Stephanie Coulter, Blessings Unlimited

I have so enjoyed what this business has brought to my life! I have got to see the heart of God through most of the people placing orders with me. Some of my favorite products are those that help with my study time and prayer time with the Lord. While waking up with a cup of coffee I have my quiet time with the Lord in the mornings spending the time in prayer and study. I am excited about 2010 and what my future with Blessings Unlimited holds for me. I pray all of you have a blessed and prosperous year. I hope you will all join me and strive to live each day pleasing God. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him. Romans 15:13

The Blessings Unlimited Story

Blessings Unlimited is a direct sales company offering Christian and inspirational products for sale by Independent Consultants at home parties that we call Gatherings. At Blessings Unlimited, our Mission Statement is “To pursue the heart of God and bring blessings to others.” We are a company which operates upon Christian principles for the purpose of Christian ministry, not just a company that sells religious products.

Blessings Unlimited was founded by DaySpring, the world’s leading producer of Christian greeting cards. For over 35 years, DaySpring has partnered with Christian stores in local communities to offer meaningful products. Blessings Unlimited continues that tradition and extends the opportunity to the home.

Blessings Unlimited began operations in 2006 and is based in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. The name “Blessings Unlimited” and our tagline are based on the Scripture in John 1:16 that says, ”From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another.” Our tagline, “From God’s heart, to your heart, to the hearts of others” represents our desire for God to reveal Himself to us and through us.

The Blessings Unlimited Operating Model is special in that we are a business with a ministry!

The conception of Cyrus International began in 2001 when one businessman began to embrace the vision inside his heart to impact humanitarian organizations around the world. With only $50 a month to give, he faithfully supported two different organizations that were dedicated to bringing help to hurting people. As this man gave consistently each month, his businesses and resources began to multiply. Soon, other business people with the same dream to impart social justice throughout their world came alongside him to help fund these humanitarian efforts.

Since 2001, these visionaries have given millions of dollars to global aid by supporting hundreds of organizations every month. Then, in 2007, Cyrus International officially formed and is a public charity committed to providing HOPE by Helping Oppressed People Everywhere. In order to confidently promote specific organizations, Cyrus extensively researches the ones it supports not only through relational references and onsite visits, but also through accountability of the allocations of funds.

Cyrus International is committed to help organizations focused on stopping the practice of human trafficking. Our desire is not only to rescue those victims from enslavement, but to also provide physical and emotional rehabilitation. In addition, we support associations dedicated to bringing social restoration to these individuals so they have an opportunity to begin to build a healthy, normal life.

Worldwide, human trafficking has become one of the leading sources of profits for organized crime, generating an estimated $9.5 billion per year. Over 2 million people are trafficked every year, 70% being women and young children. Girls as young as 12 are stolen from their countries, smuggled into other nations and forced into a life of prostitution. The average victim is obliged to have sex up to 20 times per day.

This issue can be ignored no longer, and we must rise up and become the agents of change and social justice.

Cyrus is presently partnering with A21, an organization focused on making a difference in Greece and Italy. There are huge prostitution rings in these nations, with over 200,000 women and children in Greece alone trapped as sex slaves, and 1,838 sales every day. That’s one sale every 47 seconds. Largely comprised of trafficked young women and children from former Soviet Bloc nations, these victims suffer from malnutrition, beatings, forced abortions, exposure to many STD’s, and nonexistent health care.

Cyrus International is committed to provide funding for this humanitarian organization to build onsite shelter, rehabilitation centers, legal advocacy offices, and special operations teams designed to rescue these girls. Upon rescue, their immediate physical needs will be met, and then they will begin the process of emotional rehabilitation. Because these victims were stolen at such young ages, most have no vocational skills. These centers will provide the essential education needed to help re-integrate the girls back into society.

We need your help to save these precious girls from their atrocious environments that lead many to suicide, or cause their early deaths from sexually transmitted diseases. For more detailed information about traffickingHOPE and the organizations it supports, email us at info@cyrusinternational.org.

I (Karen Gass) started Ruby Magazine this last May. It was a flash of inspiration/idea after I had been praying about a project I could do with a friend. I was thinking along the lines of a blog and some tutorials, but God had different ideas and Ruby was born. Previously I was publishing Cotton Spice Quilting Magazine, so creating a ‘magazine’ was familiar territory. (both Cotton Spice and Ruby are online, not printed) And it became a women’s magazine because I was not able to find any women’s magazines that covered the things I was interested in, and I figured I couldn’t be the only one!

Ruby is for women of all ages. We have 15 different departments in each issue of Ruby, and 15 editors in charge of each one.coverjuly

  • The Home with Amy Cavaness
  • Fashions of the Era’s
  • Gina Ross – paper doll with Rochelle Martin
  • Coloring pages that coordinate with our Devotions, with Rochelle Martin
  • Hobbies with Karen Gass
  • Gardening with Aunt Dots
  • The Adventures of Flat Sydney with Margaret Bucklew. Sydney is a character Margaret created and we take her with us when we go interesting places and take pictures of Sydney doing fun things with us :)
  • WAHM’s with Katie Cunningham
  • Ruby’s Closet with Bridgett Stemplinger
  • Cooking with Le-Teisha Robinson
  • Devotions with Susan Peterman
  • Fun and Puzzles with Beth Brubaker
  • Music with Cala Martin
  • “Secrets About Love” by Laura Day, a continuing story
  • Homeschool with Melissa Warren
  • Stationery by Karen Gass

And then we also include pictures and stories from our readers, and any other special things that come up. I try to include a Charity spotlight in the issue when I can.

cover2The purpose of Ruby is to provide the support women need, the comfort they want, some entertainment along the way, and information on subjects they are interested in. We welcome reader participation.

We also have a social networking site for Ruby subscribers. This is a private site, only available to subscribers, so we are assured that ‘strangers’ don’t show up there. We feel free to share pictures of our kids and grandkids. We have projects going on there – a stitchery BOM, some challenges, lots of chit chat, tips and ideas, groups for nearly every department. It’s fun!

There is a lot going on at Ruby, between the blog and the social networking site. Currently we have the Fruit of the Spirit Stitchery BOM going on. Every block is provided in each issue of Ruby, but since we only publish an issue every 2 months, the inbetween months block is published on the blog. This provides continuous coverage for the participating reader, and also, I hope it pique’s the interest of those who haven’t purchased a copy yet!

There will be blog projects, interviews, give-aways, and contests. Our next big blog project starts on Dec 1 with the Days of Christmas. Ruby Editors have put together some really clever and fun tutorials for Christmas decorations and gifts and some Printables such as Gift Tags.

Our hope and desire is to provide a magazine that women love. We don’t do things like gossip or diets or show you the must have skinny jeans this year, or advertise expensive creams or jewelry. There are NO ads in Ruby, except for WAHM ads and those are free!

In deciding on a selling price, we figured our budget to the penny. So, that each editor gets paid, and a little per issue for things like advertising and marketing, then we gave that price to each issue. $2.75 an issue, for more or less 100 pages of truly awesome magazine AND about 60 pages of printable downloads. That’s a lot of value! A 6 issue subscription costs 13.75, again, figured the same way. Money is tight everywhere these days, but we still need a little something for ourselves. This is an affordable ‘something for yourself’. :)
