Amy Bayliss

2amy-pro-shoot-011Amy is a true Cajun princess who is on a mission to minister to women via the World Wide Web. Her preferred method of ministering is through writing but she can often be found with a microphone strapped to her head and caught in her hair while speaking to lost and hurting women. She has a heart for encouraging and equipping them and she is a firm believer that a woman’s first ministry should be to her family.

Her passionate pursuits saturate such endeavors as A Woman Inspired online conferences and small groups for women; Heart of the Matter Online, a leading parenting and home education website and online magazine; and Internet Café Devotions which ministers to thousands of women on a daily basis. She is a regular columnist for some of the Christian circuit’s most popular blogs and her ramblings have been published in several publications.

You can also find her blogging about her online adventures, and beyond, at her personal stomping ground, AmyBayliss.com.

Amy, her husband Ryan, and their three boys live in the heart of Louisiana where they worship and serve under Healing Place Church, the birthplace of Servolution.

Leah Adams

leahphotoLeah Adams describes herself as the ‘prodigal son’s sister’.  Although she grew up in church and accepted Jesus at the age of 15, she wandered away from the Lord in her mid twenties.  After many years of living only to please herself, Leah felt the Lord wooing her back and over time He birthed in her a deep and burning desire to study and teach His Word.

Helping others understand the grace that is offered by Jesus to anyone who will accept it is the passion of Leah’s heart.  In a works-based and failure-prone society, grace is a concept that many people have difficulty grasping.  In a humble, yet authoritative way, Leah makes the Bible come alive and encourages her listeners to develop and nurture a relationship with Jesus Christ through studying the Bible, God’s love letter to humanity, and spending time in conversation with Him.

Leah and her husband, Greg, live in Blairsville, Georgia where Leah teaches a ladies’ Sunday school class and serves on the Long Range Planning Committee at First Baptist Church.  She holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer College of Pharmacy and in her professional life, Leah has lectured to hundreds of physicians and medical personnel on the appropriate use of medications to lower cholesterol.

Quotes about Leah’s teaching and speaking:

“Leah is an entertaining, anointed, and gifted communicator of the Word of God.  Her transparency and humility are refreshing and they cut through pretense and the facades of her hearers.  Leah is real!!  God has called and anointed her for His purpose to share His grace and mercy, His love and power to a generation of ladies that long for such intimacy with Christ.” Dr. Fred Lodge, Senior Pastor

Speaking Truth, Discarding lies, and Changing our Lives Through the Power of Self Talk

If there is one thing on which I am an expert, it is enduring negative self talk.

‘You are a terrible Christian… You shouldn’t be teaching anyone… Those other women – now they have something to share. They are so much better than you are…’

I am an artist when it comes to paralyzing my spirit with cruel and cutting words. Within seconds, I can feel useless and alone, desperate for someone to put me back together again.

But as devastating as negative self talk can be, positive self talk, enlightened by the healing truth from the Holy Spirit can be completely transforming.

In fact, I get so excited when I speak about self talk because I know how life altering it can be when we recognize the power of self talk and invite the Holy Spirit in to speak truth through our self talk.

So let’s dig into the topic of Self Talk by examining, The Good, The Bad, and The Transforming…

But what ways? Melissa confided to her husband she felt she had no talent and couldn’t imagine how God could use her beyond her own home.

After an entire year of praying and crying out to God for what He wanted her to do, God parted the clouds of confusion and opened her eyes to the first step He had in mind. But that little step was only the beginning of the adventure He would take her on in the months to come.

Be inspired by Melissa’s personal story of taking God’s hand and stepping out in faith on a daily basis. Find encouragement in how Melissa was inspired to let go of her own dreams and how God gave them right back to her in ways she never could have imagined.
