Carolyn J. Carleton

cjCarolyn J. Carleton

Growing up in Ontario, Carolyn (AKA Cj) had a difficult time in her teen years with self-esteem issues and a severe acne condition. Things changed when she moved to Toronto for college and was scouted by a modeling agency. They saw something in her that no one else had.

After several years in the modeling industry and many lessons learned, good and bad, Cj moved into a different place in her life–one of fulfillment and purpose. She toured across Canada with Campus Crusade for Christ speaking in high schools, encouraging teens to reach out for excellence in their lives. This is where she met and married her husband Dustin. They now live in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and have two beautiful girls ages 5 & 7.

Cj has designed and taught a self-development course for girls, is the founder of the Beautifully Created Girls Conference, and now has her first book published, What Makes You Unique? Discover the Truth or Believe the Lie, which won the 2008 Canadian Christian Writing Award in the Young Adult Category and is currently working on two more books.

Cj has appeared on 100 Huntley Street, It’s a New Day, CTV News, co-hosted The Drew Marshall Radio Show, and has been featured in numerous magazine and newspaper articles.

Cj has a gift of encouragement and bringing out the best in women of all ages. She has a passion and desire for women to live all aspects of their life with and on purpose.

Work with God, Not for God
Have you ever felt like you were banging your head against the wall doing things for God and not seeing any results? This was the pattern of my life for a long time until I realized what I was doing wrong. I had good motives and intentions, only I was running ahead of God and expecting Him to become involved in what I was doing. I was doing things ‘for’ God, but I wasn’t working ‘with’ God. Join me in discovering that when we allow God to work within us that He can effectively use our gifts and talents to work with Him and He will be able to accomplish infinitely more that you would ever dare to ask or hope.

Rhoda from Southern Hospitality

rhoda-headshotRhoda from Southern Hospitality

I’m Rhoda, a woman raised in the South who loves life and enjoys all the blessings that God has given me and I enjoy sharing my creative endeavors. I’m originally from metro Atlanta, GA and after my hubby and I got married in 2005, we moved to Birmingham, AL at the end of that year. I have thoroughly enjoyed my new city and all that it has to offer. I’m stepmom to my husband’s three 20-something young adult children and they are all living out of state, in school and working.

I worked for 30 years in the Corporate world and now I’m a stay at home wife, with a small decorating business from home and I absolutely love what I’m doing. Join me as I share my creative ideas of decorating on a budget, while I hunt down yardsale and thrifty bargains, pass on those tasty recipes, dig in the dirt a bit, as well as enjoy many excursions around town and especially in the South. My decorating blog, Southern Hospitality, has grown by leaps and bounds the last 2 ½ years and has turned into a part-time business. I do online consultations that come from my blog readers and have a ball with that.

Decorating on a Budget

You CAN have a beautiful home without breaking the bank. Rhoda will inspire you with her ingenious ways of sprucing up a room using yardsale finds and antiques. She will coach you on how to accessorize and change your current décor with paint.

Kathryn Lang

klangKathryn Lang

Kathryn was born Mary Kathryn Cranford in Guntersville, Alabama, on January 26, 1970.  It was a dark and stormy night . . . actually, it was an average Alabama January and it was around 3:03 pm.  She started from the beginning walking to the beat of her own drum and today she has her own band, so to speak!

Kathryn met her first love (who would later become her husband) at the World’s Fair in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1982.  She stalked him for several years before finally getting a date.  That was the beginning of many dates, break ups, hating, loving, a long turn at friendship before marrying on December 31, 1993.

Possibility thinking and positive point of view have been a part of Kathryn’s life for most of her life.  Couple a sunny disposition with a peculiar attitude and pour that into a small town and it is not surprise that people talked.  Kathryn strives to get people talking now.  It has only been in the last few years that she has taken that good, positive and uplifting attitude and her peculiar slant and used it to pursue her purpose in this life.  Discovering encouragement, learning to serve and finding ways around self are just a few of the tools that Kathryn is using to help others unlock their own passions to pursue their purpose as well.

Today, Kathryn lives and works at home with her three homeschooled children (all boys – ages 12, 10 and 3) and her husband who also works from home.  They live in a little cabin in the woods on a small patch of land.  It is the place that she always had in her dreams and now her dreams are becoming a reality.
